Global Dimensions of Middle Eastern Conflicts

Dr. Carapico teaches Political Science and coordinates the International Studies Program at the University of Richmond. She holds a PhD from State University of New York at Binghamton. Dr. Carapico is the recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award & a Fulbright Scholarship. She is a reputed thought leader in Yemen affairs, and has consulted at the Human Rights Watch, the Royal Netherlands Embassy, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.


During 2010 and the crucial spring of 2011, she was Visiting Chairperson at the American University in Cairo. Dr. Carapico is the   author of Political Aid and Arab Activism: Democracy Promotion, Justice, and Representation (Cambridge University Press, 2013) and Civil Society in Yemen: The Political Economy of Activism in Modern Arabia (Cambridge University Press), and several book chapters. She recently edited a volume entitled Arabia Incognita: Dispatches from Yemen and the Gulf (2016).
